The View item simply displayed the view selected in the properties.
Properties

Name: The displayed name in the PanelDefinition. You can put format here to use the lexicon.

Icon: The displayed icon at the left of the item. See https://fontawesome.com/icons for the icon list.

View: The displayed view when the item is selected.

Parent: The parent of the item. Root by default.

Display: Display or hide the item.
