AssignmentView

Overview

The assignmentView assigns a Source to one or more Nodes of the model for each aspect. The assignmentView is one of the views of the InfoSource component available in a palette. An InfoSource must be added to a source by drag-and-drop (into the component that is to be linked to the model).

Once the assignment is complete, an xxxSourceOf relation is automatically created between InfoSource and the Node selected in the AssignmentView. Associated Tags are automatically added to the source (and its extensions).

In the example below, the source has been assigned to the Node "Office A101". It retrieves the tags Floor = Level 1 and Room = Office A101.

Presentation of the Structure

• When opening the view, the AssignmentView lists all aspects of the station in the {ok} state.

• For each aspect, a block is displayed for each NodeDefinition.

• If the source is assigned directly or indirectly to a Node of one of the NodeDefinitions, the name of the Node is displayed below the name of the NodeDefinition.

To open the NodeDefinitions drop-down lists, click on any NodeDefinition of the aspect or on the name of the aspect. The drop-down lists provide all the Nodes contained in each NodeDefinition.

Looking in detail at a NodeDefinition drop-down list we see it is divided into 3 parts:

• Upper part containing the name of the NodeDefinition and the name(s) of the selected Nodes.

• Intermediate part containing a Nodes search function

• Lower part containing the list of Nodes available according to the other selections.

The "Clear Selection" button is used to reset a selection of Nodes.

A second drop-down list is available in the green band of the upper part of the aspect. It allows another source to inherit (detailed in the Inheritance from another Source section).
You can either select one of source in the list, or drag and drop a source (or its InfoSource) from the nav tree to the green band, or click on the pencil button and select a source (or its InfoSource).
