Data retention

A data retention mechanism can be activated. It allows the connector to keep the data locally in case of loss of communication between Niagara and the third party system (cloud platform, MQTT broker).

The data is stored locally and is re-sent progressively when communication is re-established. The timestamp in the message is then very important because messages are no longer necessarily sent in chronological order.

Careful:

• The Data retention is mechanism is powerful but resourceful. Avoid its use in a JACE.
• It is only available for MQTT based connectors such as MQTT, IoTHub, IoT Core...
